3-day Update #3 – Training E-mail

I hope you are enjoying the beginning of spring and the warm weather that has arrived! Yesterday I began my 3-day walk training for the event in Chicago on August 8-10. Over the next 16 weeks, I will be continuing to walk about 4 times each week to prepare myself for this journey. During this time, I will be posting updates on my blog with interesting things that I have found along this adventure. I hope to include a picture of my team there within the next couple of weeks as well. I can’t wait to get to know them more and begin walking with them.

Over the last few months, some of you have expressed an interest in walking with me when I train. I welcome new walking buddies anytime. Typically the schedule calls for walking 2 weekdays/weeknights and both weekend days. If you are interested in walking, please send me an e-mail and we can work out a time to walk at night or on the weekends.

Finally, my team and I are still raising funds in order to fund research and find a cure for Breast Cancer in this event. Through the donations of many generous people thus far, I have reached the first goal of raising $2,200 in order to participate in the walk.

I am now working to reach my ultimate goal of exceeding $5,000 raised.If you are able, please consider donating to making Breast Cancer a distant memory for the coming generations.
