I hope you are enjoying the beginning of spring and the warm weather that has arrived! Yesterday I began my 3-day walk training for the event in Chicago on August 8-10. Over the next 16 weeks, I will be continuing to walk about 4 times each week to prepare myself for this journey. During this time, I will be posting updates on my blog with interesting things that I have found along this adventure. I hope to include a picture of my team there within the next couple of weeks as well. I can’t wait to get to know them more and begin walking with them.
Over the last few months, some of you have expressed an interest in walking with me when I train. I welcome new walking buddies anytime. Typically the schedule calls for walking 2 weekdays/weeknights and both weekend days. If you are interested in walking, please send me an e-mail and we can work out a time to walk at night or on the weekends.
Finally, my team and I are still raising funds in order to fund research and find a cure for Breast Cancer in this event. Through the donations of many generous people thus far, I have reached the first goal of raising $2,200 in order to participate in the walk.
I am now working to reach my ultimate goal of exceeding $5,000 raised. If you are able, please consider donating to making Breast Cancer a distant memory for the coming generations. A link is provided below that can take you to my personal Breast Cancer 3-day page for secure online donations. If you are unable to go to the online website, please let me know and I can send you a form that can be mailed to the organization.
Thank you once again to those who have donated to this worthy cause and thank you in advance to those considering donating. Your generosity is wonderful and I thank God for each of you!
