While I wait for some additional questions to roll in from you… my faithful bloggers… I will address something that many of you do not know about me. Even those of you who know me very well. I have regrets. Well, maybe not regrets – but definitely things that I wished I had done differently.
There are 3 of them specifically… and ironically enough they all have to do with my attendance at Hope College. Strange.
1… I wish I would have rushed/pledged a sorority. I had 2 or 3 of them that I had a few friends in, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I chose not to participate in this my freshman year. Really I think it stems from my desire to be liked by everyone. But that’s a whole different blog.
2… I wish that I had taken the “Health Dynamics” class my freshman year (as almost all other students do), because I might have learned better health habits (and that I liked exercising) at age 19 rather than at age 29.
3… I wish that I had not dropped out (aka transferred to a business school) during my sophomore year. I left behind friends that I have not been able to get in touch with since as well as a promising internship in Washington DC as a part of the Political Science program.
Although, while I may wish I would have done things differently… I can’t imagine what my life would look like now. If I had stayed at Hope, rushed a sorority, and even stayed in the poli-sci program – I would not have had the experiences, the travels, the job I have now (or those in the past), and most of all the friendships that I cherish so much.
Do you have any regrets or things you wish you could have done different?
