Creating my dream board…

For a while now on twitter (and for my 101 things to do in 1001 days list) I’ve been talking about creating a dream board for myself.

What this represents {to me at least} is what I would love to see in my life.

And this is how I made it…

So I started out at Walmart buying this Elmer’s Display Board… it’s a trifold – so it’s more/less self standing.

Then I got some supplies out…

And it didn’t hurt that I had 3 years of Oprah magazines laying around the house…

So I cut out a bunch of things that meant something to me… pictures… words… phrases… and started working on the board.

*do you like my “easel”??

I initially was only going to paint the edge yellow, but decided shortly after starting that it really felt like the whole board needed to have some color to it. I think it really added a nice dimension.

I placed the pictures, words and phrases around the board in sections… family, home, life, career, self, and travels. And before I knew it, I was done with the project.

Each of these things… husband, family, travels, writing career, beauty in my home, and other things that I desire for myself and desire to believe about myself… are things that I will continue to pray for… things that I will continue to have faith that God will provide to me – in His time. And as I was doing this it really helped me visualize some things that I have been working through. It really helped me define who I am and what I believe about myself.

I love how it turned out – and that it now sits on top of a small book case in my bedroom where I can see it all of the time.

Have you ever created anything like this?

This post was written and linked up with the Elmer’s “Can You Top This?” project that I found out about through Sarah’s blog. As a side bonus to completing this stellar project, I will now be entered to win a $100 gift card to Walmart.
