It’s going to be an EPIC year…

I’ll start out by saying I know that Lake Superior State has already banned the word EPIC. I’ve been told. I know. But I don’t care. I’m still going to have an EPIC year.

2010 was great in some respects… with meeting new friends and such… but I really believe 2011 is going to bring my life to another level in so many ways. Maybe more of the same ways as what I’ve experienced before… but I really believe it’s going to be enhanced in so many new ways as well.

Hence the reason it’s going to be an EPIC year.

I actually got the idea to use EPIC while daydreaming during church on Christmas Eve. I know it’s not very Christian-like to do it, but at least I’m admitting it… well, and disclosing that the service was much too hard for me to follow. It was in Latin. Really.

Anyway – one of the services at the church is called EPIC and has it’s own acronym (which of course I can’t remember a mere 2 weeks later)… so I thought I would come up with an acronym all of my own. 🙂

  • Explore
  • Passions
  • Inspirational
  • Creativity

Along with this new acronym for my life, I thought I would add 11 goals that I would like to accomplish in 2011.

  1. Read one book per month. (Need to put the computer away more… and get back to the written word.)
  2. Cross off {at least} one item from my 101 in 1001 list each month.
  3. Travel to a new place {near or far} each month.
  4. Read the Bible in 90 days.
  5. Pray for 3 friends every night.
  6. Concentrate on keeping one room in the house clean each month.
  7. Work out on a regular basis (at least 2x per week)
  8. Track food using the Weight Watcher’s guidelines.
  9. Take a picture a day with my cell phone and tweet it using #dutch365project.
  10. Create a budget I can follow this year & take up the $25/week food budget challenge
  11. Pay off my credit card debt.

So you can see… this really adds up to a lot more than 11 items, but it’s only because I’m committing to some of these things every month for the year! But I really feel like I can do this… so yeah. 🙂

Now 2011… when I look back on this post at the end of the year, don’t be disappointing me… ok?
